Ann Hancock Stephenson

My sister, Ann Hancock Stephenson, passed away on Thursday, July 1st, 2010. Her funeral was today, on her 52nd birthday. Ann lived an amazing life and set a marvelous example for us all. Through all of the difficulties MS caused, she never complained. She was faithful to the end.

More Graduation Silliness

It wouldn't be a Hancock gather (especially when Isaac is involved) where there aren't a few zany antics. Angela's graduation was no different.

Angela Lynn Hancock graduates from Piedmont Virginia Community College

Continuing the Hancock family tradition, Angela Lynn Hancock added her name to the list of college dregrees and awards. Angela graduated May 14th, 2010 summa cum laude with an associates degree in Liberal Arts. She has been accepted to The College of William and Marry, in Williamsburg, Virginia. She will study biology with and emphasis in pre-medicine. We couldn't be prouder of Angela and her scholastic accomplishments.

Hudson Isaac Hancock

Katie and Isaac have a new little baby boy.

Weight: 9 lbs

Length: 20 1/2 inches

Hudson was delivered by C-section. Everytime Katie had a contraction, his heartrate decresed and did not recover in between contractions. Both Katie and Hudson are doing fine. They are expected to come home on Sunday.

About 2 1/2 years ago, some friends called us up the night before they were to move from Virginia to Utah. They said, we are bringing you our old van, because we can't take three cars with only two drivers. No you're not, we said. Yes we are they replied. So that is how we inherited a 1995 Ford Windstar minivan with a bazillion miles on it, and an interior that looked like the aftermath of 3 kids eating two bazillion happy meals in the back. The engine was so shot, the oil pressure light flickers when it idles. Teresa hit a dear with it and added character to the front end. I backed it into the Suburban one dark night heading out to a rescue squqad call. Now it officially had dents in all 4 sides. Last week, it wouldn't start, so I changed the battery, battery cable and the starter on a cold windy winter morning, way too close to the dog kennel. Did I mention that the dog's have been too close to a skunk? So after sinking a couple hundred into the battery and starter, the transmission started dropping down into 2nd gear - at any speed.

Whew - I didn't intend to write all that about the van. The reason for this post is to announce the purchase of a new truck - well not new, because I have never purchased any vehicle brand new. This is a 2002 Ford Ranger. I guess I have become a Ford Man - strange as that seems.

Three Months of Holiday Visitors

We had three months of Holiday Visitors. Amber came from California for Thanksgiving, Adam was here frequently from Maryland, and Crystal, Ryan and Cassia came in mid-January from Washington. It was great to see everyone and spend time together. Here are a few of the choice pictures.
